Tools and calculators

These calculators work entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere. Each one shows its formula and lets you replace every rate with the figure that applies to you.

About these tools

These calculators exist because the money questions after an arrest are the ones people get wrong. The cost of bail depends far less on the bail amount than on how it is paid: a court deposit is generally refundable, while a bondsman's premium is not, and collateral can be lost.

Every tool here runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted or stored. Each one states its formula and lets you replace every rate with the figure that applies to you, so you are never relying on a number we cannot source.

None of these tools is legal or financial advice, and none predicts an outcome. They do arithmetic on the inputs you give them and show the result.

Frequently asked questions

Do these tools send my data anywhere?

No. All calculation happens locally in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Are the default figures official?

They are common values we could source, and every one is editable. Replace them with the actual figure for your jurisdiction — the rate allowed in your state, or the per-minute rate your facility publishes.

Can a tool tell me whether I qualify for expungement?

No, and you should be sceptical of anything that claims to. The eligibility screen applies the factors most statutes use, but only your state's law and the exact disposition of the case decide.

Is using these tools confidential?

Yes. Because nothing leaves your browser, there is no record on our side of what you entered.
